spring day
last night i was having trouble getting to sleep, so i had the genius idea to not go to sleep but what good is not sleeping without a crackpot scheme? i decided to ride the train into manhattan to CONQUER THE ENORMOUS OMELETTE SANDWICH at burger king.
weighing in at 275 grams, the enormous omelette sandwich lives up its name. with 760 calories and a whopping 50 grams of fat, it is a fierce competitor. let's see how this goes, sportsfans.
and there it is. wrapped. taunting nick.
(note: although it looks like its wrapped in a white plastic bag, its actually wrapped in greasy, greasy paper)
and it's come out. look at that little blimp of animal products.
end of round one: nick is clearly in the lead. (even though that cheese is looking unphased)
round two: nick isn't looking too good. he's starting to slow at this point. he's also run out of orange juice(forcing him to eat without liquid, or 'neck' the sandwich)
round 3: nick has gotten a second wind! at this point he had gotten an (unpictured) glass of water and has taken a commanding lead over the sandwich.
at this point the batteries in my camera died when i tried to take a self portrait of the last bite of the sandwich. i was FURIOUS but i couldnt just leave a little bit of the sandwich and go buy more batteries, so i just had to shake my head, finish the sandwich and celebrate my victory alone.

the ipod soundtrack for the day was varied, but the recurring album was emiliana torrini's new
album, the fisherman's wife. its a great spring album. the standout track for today was "at least it was"
download it here:

becasuse of my las vegas upbringing, i've really been spoiled in terms of weather,.. so after braving the harsh new york winter, this string of good weather has raised my spirits so much its hard to even describe.
ahhh spring. you came just at the right time.

50 grams of fat?!?!?!? Good Lord! I'm surprised that sandwich didn't kill you just by looking at it!
dude... warm spring in new york means a killer flounder season. you should take the train out to babylon and go down to captree state park. hit up a charter boat. it's like 30 bucks for 4 or 5 hours (including bait and tackle). DDOOO IITTTTT.
