robbie's visit.
robbie had a free weekend and my mom had a free flight pass that was about to expire, so he decided to come out to ny. the only problem with those free passes are that you have to fly standby, so if you're travelling on a busy day (like friday) it can be a problem (like robbie had.)
he was at the las vegas airport from 9 am to 5 pm waiting to get on a flight. he eventually got into the city around 2 30 am, but i had already started pre-gaming for a bar, so i wasn't going to let the precious malt liquor go to waste on a sleeping stomach. we walked to the F train stop by my place (by 'by my place' i mean a 20 minute walk).. by the time we got there, it was 3 15, but we decided to wait for the train anyway.
40 minutes (and 3 contraband cigarettes in the subway station) later, the train finally showed up. by that point the pre-gaming and fatigue had caught up to me, and i started fading fast. it also didn't help that the f train was making A train stops in manhattan (total other side of the island)
by the time we reached manhattan we decided just o get some chicken & rice and call it a night.
robbie, on the way back from chicken and rice (if you can see that yellow bag, that's the stand's new fancy bag)
robbie giving a billy idol lip-snarl to sum up our feelings about the F train.
we finally got home around 6 and dicussed our lunch options for the next day... we finally decided on shake shack and went to sleep (we needed our rest, akron/family was playing the next day (for free!) at the east river music project)
we got up around 2 in the afternoon, took the train to shake shack, had a delicious lunch and robbie mentioned how he'd like to see some of the city, so i figured "hey, why not, let's walk"
examine, if you will, the two red dots on this map. also examine the scale in the bottle left. ALSO remember that robbie was wearing vans slip-ons and i was wearing chucks.
LONGEST WALK EVER.
we ended up getting there for akron/family's last 3 songs, but we were so exhausted ( a relly greasy burger and cigarettes before a walk is not suggested) that we just stayed at the park until the sun started going down.
robbie.
akron/family.
me and robie sat in the grass and took our shoes off to let our "barking dogs" "simmer down"
later that night, we heard that my chemical romance was djing at misshapes, and anyone that knows me has probably heard me talk about how im so ashamed of myself for loving that band so much.. there was no way we couldn't go. when we got in, i was too caught up in drinking and dancing to take any pictures.. but at about 4 30 we drunkenly stumbled out of the club and onto the train, and the camera came out. these pictures really speak for themselves.
(i made shorts out of pants, they fit strangely like capri pants, the jury is still out on these)
and so concludes another wonderful weekend in new york city.
